Introduction Let’s be honest - airfares are a very complicated area. You will get conflicting information, a wide range of prices, rules and restrictions and all manner of other potentially nasty pitfalls. At Dreamtime Travel we know this and we try and simplify things as much as possible. Please see the latest Special Offers for current bargains and great value deals. We try to update this page regularly - check back often for the latest information.
Firstly, we will always endeavour to offer an honest airfare at the best price we can provide and there will be no ’hidden’ extra costs or surprises - all our airfares are only supplied by companies that hold an ATOL licence for your security. We do not embellish our prices with cheap airfares and then charge excessive insurance premiums and we do not charge for ETA (electronic) visitor visa procurement for Australia.
Now that you can be confident that we have your best interests at heart where on earth do you start?!!
Most fares to any destination are seasonal and Australia, New Zealand and Round the World tickets are no exception. At Dreamtime Travel we have access to all the latest special fares all year round.
Your trip There are many types of airfare available and we can quote for absolutely any route or itinerary that you may dream up. However there are many points that you should consider before deciding on an itinerary. Basically you can narrow down your options by asking yourself the following questions which will enable us to establish what sort of fare is likely to be the best for your needs.
Do I need a visa? All UK Passport holders traveling to Australia require a visitor visa which is valid for stays of less than three months. We issue Australia visitor visas free of charge to clients booking their travel arrangements through us. For longer stays you will have to apply for the relevant tourist or working holiday visa. Details of these are available at www.australia.org.uk. Please note charges apply. All UK Passport holders travelling to New Zealand can stay for a maximum of six months without the need for a visa.
How long must my Passport be valid for? You must have a minimum of six months validity on your passport from your date of return to the UK.
Which destinations/cities do you know you MUST visit on your itinerary? These are obviously the places that you have always dreamed of visiting and must be included on your ticket, or the places where you may be visiting those long-lost relatives!
Do you have a preference for a particular airline or are there airlines that you do not want to use? You would be surprised how many people do have specific requests in this area.
Are you purely after the cheapest fare, or would you like a range of fares with various carriers? We are happy to provide the lowest fare but will always try and explain the pros and cons of ’the cheapest ticket’. These tickets can often be restrictive in many ways including extra time spent travelling or in transit, limited or minimum periods of stay and, most frustratingly, limited availability of seats at these low prices. Great fares for students, backpackers and independent travellers but not always the best for some of our other clients.
Are there any other destinations you would like to visit if time, schedules or your budget allows? We will always be pleased to suggest extra destinations where they can be provided as part of the ticket at no extra charge or at small extra cost. For example some tickets include a given number of stops and you may like to make full use of these to obtain maximum value from your airfare.
Are you interested in flying in "Enhanced" (Premium) Economy, Business or First Class? We can offer a full range of these fares as well as private airport transfers and so on. At certain times of the year you can pick up a good value 'companion' fare in Business Class if there are two people travelling together. We can tell you which airlines feature beds in Business Class and why some airlines are better than others when it comes to premium class travel.
Are there any children in the party? This is an important point - most airlines have fantastic in-seat entertainment systems including computer games etc - a great distraction for kids on a long-haul flight - and also surprisingly popular with adults too!
Travel Insurance Last but certainly not least you must consider insurance. We cannot stress how important adequate insurance cover is and we have a range of different policies available.
In conclusion So, all you have to do now is sit down and plan the trip of a lifetime. We will do the rest!
